SUMMARY:Friday Potluck Luncheon with Friends
DESCRIPTION:Come join us on Friday\, January 16\, 2026\, noon. Our special guest will be\, Fanny Crawford she is a story teller. She learned family stories\, political and cultural history from extended family and friends\, moving to Maryland 50 years ago\, finding inspiration and community one tale at a time. As a retired educator\, she built a repertoire of historical narratives\, folk tales from around the world\, tall tales and original stories for diverse audiences – all ages and backgrounds. Her performance will include portrayals of her paternal greatgrandfather – son of an escaped\, formerly enslaved black man. She also has narratives from 19th-20th century New York City from the Jewish side of her family\, and traditional and neo-folk tales. She co-hosts an internet radio-podcast and founded story venue in Hagerstown\, coordinating more than 60 performances by regional and nationally renowned storytellers. For her debut appearance at St. Andrew’s Potluck with Friends Group she will portray her Great-Grandfather T.H. Barnes as he appeared near the end of his life in 1942\, speaking on his – and her – family history. \nCome join us. Bring a dessert or side dish to share.
