SUMMARY:Williamsport Harvest Hoedown
DESCRIPTION:Fall has arrived\, and with it comes thoughts of autumn leaves\, pumpkins\, and WAIT\, the annual Williamsport Harvest Hoedown! Mark your calendars for Saturday\, October 1\, as we at St. Andrew once again participate in the HOedown by hosting the much-loved scarecrow patch.  Kids\, young and old\, flock to our area at Byron Park to make and take home their scarecrows.  We will put premade scarecrows together on September 25\, 5:00 p.m.  All proceeds go to the Williamsport Food Bank Ministries. \nWe need LOTS of help from our St. Andrew family! So\, you say you can’t help due to allergies?  Not a problem!  There are several volunteer jobs available\, actually\, most of them where you do not have to get into the hay.  Our scarecrow patch will run smoothly if many people volunteer that day for 1 hour.  Students looking for community service hours will find this a fun way to earn hours.  Look for sign-up sheets in the parlor soon. \nWe still need small people’s clothes\, baby onesie scarecrows are the most popular\, so check out local yard sales to donate.  The Harvest Hoedown is the largest fundraiser for our Williamsport food pantry.  Let us at St. Andrew live our love of Christ by volunteering to help on October 1st.  Contact Shirley Fox with any questions.  Hope to see you all there!

SUMMARY:Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Project
DESCRIPTION:For more than 25 years Samaritan’s Purse has collected shoeboxes filled with gifts and delivered them to children in need around the world.  Each box is an opportunity for a boy and girl to experience the love of God in a tangible way and to hear the Gospel. \nMany boys and girls who receive shoebox gifts enroll in the Samaritan’s Purse discipleship program\, “The Greatest Journey\,” where they learn to follow Christ and share Him with others. It all starts with a simple gift.  Will you prayerfully consider joining us in this exciting ministry? \nShoeboxes will be placed in the parlor for you to pick up and fill.  You will also receive a brochure to help guide you in filling the shoebox. Once the box is filled please return it to church.  We will arrange for it to be shipped to a processing center and then to needy children around the world. \nThank you for making a child happy this Christmas.

SUMMARY:Christian Education Motivation Speaker - Brian Sandell
DESCRIPTION:Each year the Christian Education Committee invites a motivational speaker to share wisdom\, insight\, and biblical truths from the Bible.  Last year we invited one of our own who grew up in the St. Andrew Church\, Brian Sandell.  Brian’s message was so well received last year that the Committee decided to ask him back once again.  Brian is a pastor in Altoona\, Pennsylvania\, who was a pastor for four years in Chambersburg\, Pennsylvania.  We have seen Brian grow up in the church for all the “Old Timers” at church.  He was six years old when we came to serve St. Andrew.  Our Church family deserves a lot of credit for helping us raise our sons to know and follow God.  We hope that that church family can come to hear the biblical wisdom that Brian will share with us on Sunday night\, October 9\, at 6:00 p.m.  Refreshments will be served.  If you need a babysitter\, please let Pastor Mark or Annette know.  His topic will be “Having the Faith of David and How to Stand firm before your Goliath.”  Please sign up in if you will be attending.
