Mission Trip on August 17th – 20th

Grace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

It is with great excitement that I get to share with everyone information on the upcoming mission week here at St. Andrew. Even though our church mission trip to Big Creek had to be postponed until next year, opportunities to do God’s work in mission are right here. The youth will be hosting a mission week here at St. Andrew August 17th to 20th. It is an opportunity to share Christ’s love with the church and community.

The theme for this week is A.R.K. (Acts of Random Kindness) and that is just what we are going to do that week. In the spirit of Hebrews 13:16 “And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God” (NLT). We as a church family are going to be sprucing up the church inside and out as well as going out to do for others in sprucing things up for those who can’t. There are other things we can do but it all depends on you. The more that come to help the further we can extend Christ’s love into the community.

Each day will start at 9am with prayer before getting into work. We will break for lunch (which will be provided for everyone) and then a short bible study centered around our theme before ending between 2 to 3 pm. There may also be some fun or yummy surprises during the week. The goal is to do as much good and share as much as we can in the 4 days we will work together. All that is needed from you is the sharing of your time and talents. We will be following appropriate social distancing guidelines and utilizing proper protection during this time.

We welcome you for whatever time you can spare. If you plan to attend please RSVP to myself or Pastor Mark. When RSVP’ing please give us an idea of what amount of time you can share, if you have any special needs or limitations, and T-shirt size. If you have question feel free to contact me.

Let us work together in love shining the light of Christ into the community and to each other. Showing that despite the uncertainties of these times Christ is there and that His work goes on through his people.

In Christ’s Love,

Chris Johnson

Youth and Young Adult Ministry Coordinator
