Church Women’s Human Rights Celebration (9.12.25)
During these hot days of summer, it’s refreshing to look forward to the Church Women United’s Human Rights celebration on Friday, September 12, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.
The program, with the theme “Help Others at All Times,” begins at 6:45. Kathy Powderly of HARC (Hagerstown Area Religious Council) will be the keynote speaker. The dinner begins at 6 pm at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Reservations are due by September 5, to Tammy Coyle.
St. Andrew Deacons Blood Drive (9.9.25)
Join St. Andrew Deacons and help save lives at a community blood drive. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. That’s why we are on a mission to help save lives by hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, September 9th from 12:30 pm to 6 pm in the Legacy Hall. Please help spread the word to your family, friends and co-workers.
The community is invited to take part in this special event and donate blood for hospital patients in our neighborhoods and across the nation. The need for blood is constant, but only 3 percent of the U.S. population donates. By rolling up a sleeve, donors can play a critical role in the treatment of accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease.
If you would like some flyers to advertise the event, please let Jen know. Drive Details:

Magnified! Vacation Bible School (6.9 – 6.13.25)
We are getting so excited about V.B.S. coming soon. The theme this year is Magnified. How can God be magnified in our lives so that we can live a fulfilled life and He may be glorified through our lives.
If you have not signed up to volunteer there is a sign up sheet in the parlor. There are many areas we still need volunteers. We need assistants in each class, especially with the younger grades. Ideally we would like 2 assistants for each classroom. Please stop by and volunteer in an area that you would like.
Snacks are a big part of V.B.S. Each snack is directly linked to the lesson that is being taught. A devotion about the snack/lesson is read while the students are enjoying their snack. We get quite creative with the snacks each year. There is a sign up sheet for the snacks if you would like to donate some snack items. Please bring them in and label them V.B.S. snacks. You can put them on the back counter in the office or in the kitchen. Some of the items are very specific and are not on the sign up sheet. If you would like to place a monetary donation for snacks, please use the envelope provided at the sign up stand. Place your envelope in the offering plate or directly on the secretary’s desk. Thank you so much for making snack time such a special time for the kids.
Each year we have a canteen, a V.B.S. store for the kids to purchase items that they have earned using their tokens given to them by their teachers. If you would like to donate any items for the canteen, please place them in a bag marked “V.B.S. Canteen” and put on the back counter in the office. Used items are fine as long as they are clean and in good shape. Thank you for making this such a fun time for all the kids. Please register as soon as possible for V.B.S. We are getting curriculum, crafts, and t-shirts ready to go. Registration forms are in each week’s bulletin. Please fill it out and place it in the offering plate, on the secretary’s desk, or in the basket that is located in the parlor by the newsletters. There are Guest Registration forms at the sign up stand. Please take some and invite your friends. Return the forms when they are complete.
