Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Project

For more than 25 years Samaritan’s Purse has collected shoeboxes filled with gifts and delivered them to children in need around the world.  Each box is an opportunity for a boy and girl to experience the love of God in a tangible way and to hear the Gospel.

Many boys and girls who receive shoebox gifts enroll in the Samaritan’s Purse discipleship program, “The Greatest Journey,” where they learn to follow Christ and share Him with others. It all starts with a simple gift.  Will you prayerfully consider joining us in this exciting ministry?

Shoeboxes will be placed in the parlor for you to pick up and fill.  You will also receive a brochure to help guide you in filling the shoebox. Once the box is filled please return it to church.  We will arrange for it to be shipped to a processing center and then to needy children around the world.

Thank you for making a child happy this Christmas.

October Newsletter

Dear Friends,

As we enter the Fall season, it is fair to say that these past two years have been a trial and tribulation for all of us.  It is important for us to live into and latch onto the promises of God.  For our next series of columns, let us take time to explore what God promised to us.  If you have a favorite promise, please let me know so that we can incorporate the promise that has touched you into our discussion in this column.

There are many chapters of the New Testament that are rich in promises.  The next one that we will look at is Romas 8.  Please take time to live into this chapter.  Read it and ponder it.  Let it speak to you.

Back to School Picnic

Thank you so much to the Fellowship Committee for providing such a wonderful lunch to enjoy at our Back To School Picnic.  We had Guessing Jars, outside activities and BINGO!  It was a wonderful day of fun activities.  Most of all, thank you to all who came to show support and prayer for all the returning students and teachers as they head off for a new school year.  Each returning student and teacher shared where they would be attending this upcoming school year.  We surrounded the students and teachers with a prayer led by Pastor Mark.

Vacation Bible School Video: God’s creativity, His plan and how He works to fulfill that plan through us.

What a wonderful week we had at V.B.S. We had around 70 people attend V.B.S. from toddlers to adults.  What a blessing it was to have so many people of all ages come out to learn more and grow deeper in their faith.  We had around 50 people volunteer to help out!  We could not have done this without the help of so many people.  Thank you to those who volunteered your time, resources, and services to make this such an amazing week for kids of all ages!

Everyone had a blast! Check out our V.B.S. video!

May Newsletter

Dear Friends,

As we enter the season of Easter, some have asked if I would discuss how to view the scripture so, in these columns we will be looking at how to read the Bible effectively. We looked at some of the basics of the Bible and how to see the Bible in a larger fashion.  The Bible is clear that it is God’s Word to us.  It does not simply contain the Word of God.
