Trunk or Treat (10.29.23)

Trunk or Treat Harvest Party (October 29):  Everyone is invited to a fun fall evening on Sunday, October 29, 6:00 p.m. here at the church. Some of the exciting events that will be happening:
** Trunk or Treat: We will be hosting a Trunk or Treat event on our parking lot. We need LOTS of people to participate in this. It is very easy, you can decorate your van/car and yourself if you want and hand out candy to the kids as they come by. The more people we have participating the more fun it will be for the kids. There is a sign up sheet in the parlor for you to sign up to volunteer with our Trunk or Treat Event. If you have any questions, please see Pastor Mark.
** Games, Crafts and Refreshments: In the Legacy Hall we will have games and crafts for all ages. There will also be refreshments for everyone as well. If you are interested in helping out with the games, crafts or refreshments, please see Annette.
** Spooky Haunted House: The downstairs will be transformed into a scary place. The Youth Group always does an amazing job in making the downstairs into such a spectacular place, an area that is really scary and then an area that is not quite so scary. If you are interested in helping Chris Johnson and the Youth Group with fixing up the downstairs and guiding people through some spooky places, please see Chris Johnson.

Harvest Hoedown (10.7.2023)

Fall has arrived, and with it comes thoughts of autumn leaves, pumpkins and WAIT – the annual Williamsport Harvest Hoedown!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 7th, as we at St. Andrew once again participate in the Hoedown by hosting the much-loved scarecrow patch. Kids young and old flock to our area at Byron Park to make and take home their scarecrows.

We need LOTS of help from our St. Andrew family! So, you say you can’t help due to allergies? Not a problem! There are several volunteer jobs available, actually, most of them, where you don’t have to get into the hay. If many people volunteer that day for just 1 hour, our scarecrow patch will run smoothly. Students looking for community service hours will find this a fun way to earn hours. The sign-up sheet is in the parlor.

We are still in need of some items. Used and new pantyhose (pantyhose can be purchased at the Dollar Tree for $1.25), small people clothes, baby onesies, Long sleeve button/snap up shirts all sizes, but especially youth and children sizes, Jeans of all sizes especially youth and children sizes, Hats, Neckties, Scarves, Belts. Place your donations in the tub found in the hall outside of the office marked scarecrows before October 1.

The Harvest Hoedown is the largest fundraiser for our Williamsport food pantry. Let us at St. Andrew live our love of Christ by volunteering to help on October 7th. Contact Shirley Fox with any questions. Hope to see you all there! Our premade scarecrow event will be October 1, 5p.m. Please note: The youth are no longer collecting clothes for Big Creek.

April 2023 Newsletter

Dear Friends, As we have neared the end of the season of Lent, I hope that this season of the church year was a blessing to you. We here at St. Andrew talk about being intentional about our faith. During these last forty days, we have looked at ways to deepen our faith. We have looked at fasting and prayer, meditation, and Scripture study. As we complete our journey and seek to live in the resurrected community, we need to look at other spiritual disciplines that can enhance our journey together.
